In this course we will examine how people manage the (apparently simple) business of social interaction in everyday life. You will learn about the empirical methodology used in CA, seminal studies in the field, and the basic structures and mechanisms observed in all sorts of human conversation. In addition, you will acquire technical skills that will help you collect and analyse your own conversation data. The course is open to all undergraduate students who have successfully completed Module A/ Module II.
