Please note that due to SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19/"Corona", class sessions will be adapted to a flexible moodle format. Our moodle classroom will open at our scheduled class time in the first week of classes, meaning April 21, 10 am. You should have received an email with the key to this class based on your LSF registration. You will, however, be able to adapt your coursework to your personal needs (some of you have voiced their concern that they are not available during the day because of care work or student jobs that are less flexible because of SARS-CoV-2): I will continuously add sessions as soon as they are ready, and you will be free to choose when you would like to cover the material.

This class is targeted towards UDE English teacher education students preparing for their mandatory stay abroad (modules X + AE), UDE English teacher education students who are exempt from going abroad (only module CC! Module Y consists of different classes!) and E3 candidates interested in deepening their intercultural competencies and diversity literacy.

Selected theoretical and practical aspects from various areas of Anglophone studies will be employed to help students develop their intercultural competences and awareness as well as their critical diversity literacy. Furthermore, the class is meant to train skills that are needed to critically reflect upon intercultural experiences so that students can maximize the benefit of their intercultural encounters both during their stay abroad [if applicable] and beyond.

Module X/AE: Please make sure to take this class BEFORE you plan your stay abroad - it is not necessary to already have exact plans for the stay abroad/project in order to join this class, and it is not exclusively a preparation for a stay abroad, you will be applying the above mentioned aspects right here as well.

A Reader is available at the copy shop located at Reckhammerweg 4 probably by the second week of classes (if the copy shop will open as scheduled after the SARS-CoV-2 shutdown), and in the first week of classes, at our regular class time, this moodle page for this semester's class will be activated.
