The lecture course "Fundamentals of Magnetism" (Grundlagen des Magnetismus, given in English) provides a basic knowledge of magnetic phenomena, materials and applications:
  • Spin, magnetic moment, diamagnetism, paramagnetism;
  • Magnetic order in the solid state, magnetic anisotropy;
  • Magnetic structures, magnetization dynamics, magnetic excitation, magnetic coupling phenomena;
  • Spintronics, magnonics, modern applications;
  • Introduction to nanomagnetism: Nanoparticles, ultrathin films and magnetic molecules.
