The lecture course "Fundamentals of Magnetism" (Grundlagen des Magnetismus, given in English) provides a basic knowledge of magnetic phenomena, materials and applications:
- Spin, magnetic moment, diamagnetism, paramagnetism;
- Magnetic order in the solid state, magnetic anisotropy;
- Magnetic structures, magnetization dynamics, magnetic excitation, magnetic coupling phenomena;
- Spintronics, magnonics, modern applications;
- Introduction to nanomagnetism: Nanoparticles, ultrathin films and magnetic molecules.
