This course will deal with the interaction of light with magnetic systems and the related physical effects. The photon energies will cover the range from the visible up to the hard x-ray regime. In this way we will also cover x-ray magnetooptical phenomena. We will cover fundamental aspects as well as applications in materials analysis and magnetic spectroscopy and microscopy.
