Margaret Busby’s anthology of women writing by African authors comprises more than 200 writers of African origin and emphasizes the significance of literary contributions by women from the continent. In this course we will discuss theoretical approaches to women writing and two contemporary novels, Ghana Must Go (2013) by Ghanaian author Taiye Selasi and The Book of Memory (2015) by Zimbabwean author Petina Gappah.
