The purpose of this course is to expand the understanding of macroeconomics and macroeconomic theory of the students towards a gender-sensitive economic analysis, with a focus on care, structural analysis and macroeconomic policy aspects. The course will be built on three fundamentals: a) understanding, acknowledging, and measuring the care economy; b) adapting quantitative methods towards more gender and LGBTQ+- inclusive analyses; c) promoting critical thinking and rigorous policy and macroeconomic phenomena analyses. Our goal is to guide the participants toward the formulation of viable research projects focused on addressing care needs in developing countries through a better understanding of the care economy and the formulation of gendersensitive macroeconomic policies.
