This is an introductory course for undergraduate students who want to acquire a deeper understanding of North Korean politics. The course is designed to familiarize students with the historical background of North Korea, characteristics of the North Korean political system, and current issues regarding North Korea's nuclear program. The main questions through the course are: 1) How can the North Korean system endure? 2) Why did North Korea develop the nuclear program? 3) What makes it difficult for North Korea to give up its nuclear program?
