E-LiTe is a course-overarching online resource designed to support
students in the development of the key skills and competencies in
academic research and writing needed for independent scientific work in
linguistics. In particular, the handling of various sources and data,
their analysis and evaluation using standard linguistic methodology, and
the correct use of linguistic terminology in the writing of term papers
are key competencies in this area of scientific work, which E-LiTe aims
to promote. As a supplemental offering to module Ling2 (Areas and
Approaches), the project primarily aims at supporting students in
writing their first academic papers in the field of linguistics. Beyond
that, however, E-LiTe is also intended to serve as a resource for
students at all stages of their studies experiencing individual
uncertainties when it comes to academic practice, such as finding a
suitable topic, conducting linguistic analyses, the appropriate use of
academic language and adhering to the correct citation conventions.
