Is globalization leading to
a more homogeneous and standardized social order, or is more heterogeneity a
consequence? Are we witnessing the emergence of a world society with a proper
economic, political, social and cultural order? The course will take up this
sociological debate in order to present and discuss different theories that
describe different aspects and dimensions of globalization, and explain related
processes and their consequences.
