In this course, the software "Cambridge Engineering Selector" will be applied to select materials for components for use under high temperatures and for lightweight construction in particular. In addition, other functionalities of the software will be applied, including a tool to evaluate the carbon footprint of the selected materials.
Participation in the lecture "Materials Selection - Wear and Corrosion Resistant Materials" from the summer semester is NOT a prerequisite for attending this course. However, it will no longer be explicitly introduced in the WS. If you do not know it yet, you can teach yourself how to use it via videos from last semester or on Youtube, and of course ask your questions in the exercises.
Lectures will take place in the room MC 327 in presence while the exercises will be streamed simultaneously via BigBlueButton. Both the Lecture and the Exercise will be in English and will be beginning at 9.00 am on the days indicated on the schedule below. Furthermore, there will be two tasks that will be solved as a take home exercise that students need to solve alone.
